Overview
Move on to the One-Pager Chords ODT template
Now that the raw content is ready, copy/paste it in the one-pager template and start formatting it!
Tip
When pasting to Writer, always use the shortcut Shift+Ctrl+Alt+V (or select the menu entry Edit > Paste Special > Paste Unformatted Text) instead of the usual Ctrl+V (or Edit > Paste). This way, you ensure that the text you paste is free of any formatting that might not only corrupt the template, but also trick you into formatting the whole page with the wrong style, only to have you start over later on 😰
- In the title & artist header, replace
TitleandArtistwith those of the song- If necessary, you can use two lines (e.g one for the title and one for the artist), but beware that you will lose a lot of precious space
- Now replace the rest of the text with the content you prepared
At this point, the content will likely span over multiple pages. The first step is to make everything fit on one page. Simply reduce the font size of the content (e.g. using the Shit+Ctrl+Page Up shortcut) until it all fits on the first page.
You probably think the text looks ridiculously small and you’re right! The process of increasing the font size by re-arranging the elements in the page is called optimization. Put your boxing gloves on and get ready for your first optimization round 🥊
