The chords are simply attached to the section where it is defined, i.e. they’re directly nearby its name tag. Find more about how to actually read the chords.

When a section is re-used, just play the same chords as when it was defined (unless mentioned otherwise).

Looking at our previous example, here are the groups of chords:

  • C F Am G - C F C-G C for the [Chorus] section (in red), as well as for the two Verses since no chords are attached nearby
  • F A7 Dm A#m - F C F C for the [Bridge] section (in green)
  • C for the [Fill] section (in blue)

What about numbered sections?

Unless [mentioned otherwise][different], a numbered section uses the same chords as the other sections of the same name. For instance, [Chorus #2] will use the same chords as [Chorus].

In the below example, the section [Verse #2] is first defined (in green). It shares the same chords as the [Verse] section (in red). When it’s re-used (in purple), those same chords apply.
