What is an empty line?
When there are no lyrics at all to play with a given pair of chords, the corresponding “empty line” is represented by a …. This acts as a reminder to wait until the next pair of chords before starting singing again.
Note
When there are one or more empty lines at the end of a section, there usually won’t be any …. Just play the remaining chords before moving on to the next section.
For instance:
