Increase/decrease vertical spacing
Vertical spacing in the page has two different meanings:
- For the title, it’s the vertical space between the title and the main content of the page (a.k.a. margin bottom)
- For the main content of the page, it the vertical space between each line
The vertical spacing for both the title and the main content is managed by the Title and the Standard [paragraph styles][opc-styles]. These are the magic macros that take care of handling it for you:
| Macro name | Description | Recommended keyboard shortcut |
|---|---|---|
IncreaseVerticalSpacing |
Increase the vertical spacing | Shift+Ctrl+Page Down |
DecreaseVerticalSpacing |
Decrease the vertical spacing | Shift+Ctrl+Page Up |
Similarly to the font size macros, the vertical spacing macros will behave differently depending on where the cursor is. When the cursor is:
- On the title, then the vertical space between the title and the main content will continuously increase/decrease by steps of 0.2 inches until you release the keys
- On the rest of the page, then the vertical space between each line will continuously increase/decrease by steps of 1% until you release the keys
Tip
An easy way to remember these shortcuts is Page Down will make the overall content go down while Page Up will make it go up.
